Mick Huerta is an experiential travel writer and food blogger who splits his time between the Amazon, the Andes, and Newfoundland. Having spent decades exploring Latin America, his writing is deeply grounded in local culture, culinary traditions, and regional history.

He has a deep passion for the region’s culinary anthropology and has written several other niche regional books, including Salsa! The Sauces of South America! and SnowBlind in the Andes. He is also the co-founder of Spirit of the Andes, an organization dedicated to supporting health and income generation programs for Indigenous Andean mothers and children.
